Edgewood College students are invited to study abroad in Fanjeaux and Carcassonne, France with students from Dominican colleges and universities from across the United States. Fanjeaux is where Dominican higher education finds its roots in Dominic’s vision of a world-wide order. This program is limited to one or two students so don’t delay! If more than one student applies, an interview may be required. The program will be offered during summer 2023, but will not be offered in summer 2024. It will run on a biannual basis. Coursework: This study abroad program includes a three-credit course, “St. Dominic and the Middle Ages.” In this interdisciplinary course taught in English, you will learn explore medieval studies in: art and architecture, history, literature, and religious thought. Credits: Upon successful completion of the three-credit, “St. Dominic and the Middle Ages,” course, students will receive 3 transfer credits from Molloy College (a Dominican college in Rockville Centre, New York). Program Highlights: - Join students from other Dominican colleges. - Study in Fanjeaux where Dominican higher education finds its roots in Dominic’s vision of a world-wide order. - Explore medieval studies in Art, Architecture, History, Literature and Religious thought. - Improve your understanding of French language and culture. - Share travel and study with your peers from across the U.S. - Visit many interesting sites in southern France *No French language experience required.
