Program Description

Come explore Cambodian culture through a close-up and hands-on study abroad experience! This program is open to students in all majors, sophomore and above!

Tentative Dates of Travel: December 27, 2023-January 13, 2024

Course Description:
COR 230G/GS 270 will provide trans-cultural experience through pre-immersion classroom instruction. We will use a variety of learning sources such as movies, novels, news articles, guest speakers, and field trips.


Winter 2024 Travel Description:
• Students will help provide physical health screenings and health education to Cambodian children and adults with disabilities.
• Partnerships with Angkor Hospital for Children, the University of Puthisastra, Cambodian School Project, HERZ Movement, and the United Nations of Dane County.
• Cultural Experiences may include: Theater performance and workshops at the Cambodian Living Arts University, hiking the historic Angkor Wat Temple national park, hiking to tropical waterfalls, Cambodian Circus, visit to silk farm and weavers, various shopping markets, Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum, Angkor National Museum, cooking classes, bike rides through the Artisan Village, boat ride through the floating villages, ocean beach!

• Enroll in COR 231G/GS 271 (2G, 8 weeks, online)
