Program Description

Come explore Cambodian culture through a close-up and hands-on study abroad experience! This program is open to everyone and all majors, sophomore and above!

Tentative Dates of Travel: December 28, 2020-January 14, 2021

Course Description:
GS/NRS 270 will provide trans-cultural experience through pre-immersion classroom instruction. We will use a variety of learning sources such as movies, novels, news articles, guest speakers, and field trips.

Winter 2020 Travel Description:
• Students will help provide well-care physical assessments and health education to Cambodian children
• Community partnerships with Angkor Hospital for Children and the University of Puthisastra will be strengthened and explored
• Cultural Experiences may include theater and dance performances, interactive arts workshops at the Cambodian Living Arts University, hiking through Angkor Wat Temple and national park, the Phare Circus, visit to silk farmers and weavers, various shopping markets, swimming in tropical waterfalls, Tuol-Sleng Genocide museum, organic Kompot pepper farm, cooking classes, bike rides, and boat rides!!!
